The construction of two rivers and one district is an important project made by the Xianyang committee of the party and the Xianyang municipal people’s Government for the quick development of Xianyang, the project includes three ports; to improve the ecological environment and the flood control of the Wei river, to improve the ecological environment and flood control of the Feng River and to build Feng River and to build Fenghe New Distract.
    The project of improving Ecological Environment and Flood control of the Wei River (Xianyang Lake)
The project is 16 kilometers long near Xianyang city and will be finished in two phases according to the plan the first phase called″Xianyang lake″is a construction of a lake with6 kilometers long and about 500meters wide the. The water comes from the wei river, at the same time, grass and trees will be planted along the banks and marsh swamp, and scenic spots like weibin park gudu park, qingweilou square and liangshidu park beside the lake will be renovated to make a beautiful scenery, the construction of Xianyang lake will set up an example for improving environment of the wei river, and it will be finished in may 2005 with a total investment of 1 billion yuan.
    The project of improving ecological environment and flood control of the Feng River:
    It is one of the key projects of the constructing ″Two Rivers and One District″,the programmed length is to kilometers and the average width is 600 meters covering an area of about 6square kilometers.
    FENGHE NEW DISTRICT:
    Fenghe new district is a main area to develop in next few years in Xianyang, the new district will be 10.5kilometers long from east to west and 6kilometers wide from south to moth, the total area will be 42square kilometers with about 350.000people working and living there.
    The new district is being built according to the plan and several zones and many parks will be built the transportation will be very convenient with several highways, expressways and railways passing through the new district, several planned zones are ;an agricultural products process and trade zone, a central zone with commerce, finance, information services, administrative offices, culture and sport, a hi-mew technology development zone and residential zones with good ecological environment now some units and enterprises such as the top software park, the tsinhua scientific and technology park ,a new campus of the Shaanxi college of traditional Chinese medicine ,the imperial garden, Qingang garden, the Xi’an, jiaotong university science and technology parry ,the Qindu district government and the landmark brewery have been settled in the new district with a total investment of over 3billion yuan ,the new district will become a place concentrating high-new silence and technology industry and scientific personnel in Shaanxi province and even in the whole country.
